What is Futsal?

What is Futsal?

Futsal is played between two teams of five players each including a goalkeeper. The game is played on a
hardcourt surface delimited by lines (like a basketball court); walls or boards are not used. Futsal is
played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular soccer ball.
• Maximizes active participation with frequent touches on the ball and high level of goal scoring.
• Teaches ball control, technique and passing in small spaces.
•  Develops quick transitions from offense to defense and strong shooting skills.
• Emphasis on improvisation and creativity.
